ROAD CONSTRUCTION CAREER PATHS

In general, there are four main job areas within highway construction: structures, asphalt, grading and jobs within asphalt plants. As an entry-level worker, you will spend between three to six months in your first job before being promoted to the next level. The charts below show typical career paths within each segment.
